The End Of The World As We Know It - Not Quite

Alright, Rebel Radio lost our 100% record.Sorry.

A wet and windy road led to Eamonn Deacy Park for our second broadcast there, having covered the victory in the ground last year.

Unfortunately, no all-time record for John Caulfield's side. Bohemians in the 20's went 15 straight wins at the start of an 18-game season. City, halted at twelve.

And it's hard to say that Galway didn't deserve the draw. They came out of the traps very fast and were the better side for the first 40 minutes. Just before half time, Shep started to find space in behind, but couldn't convert anything.

JC must've put the proverbial boot in the backsides of the team, as they were firing on all comers to start the second 45. Deserved our opener, even if it was helped on it's way by one of theirs.

The way we conceded though was appealing. A lump forward from a free on halfway, a free header from 10 yards which somehow manages to lob Nults. It's the kind of goal we conceded during our down patch last season.

We had chances to win it too. Somehow, Winn keeps out Delaney's header, Seani gets blocked on the line, and it just happens to fall to the one player you probably wouldn't want it to fall to (No offence Benno!). For the third away game running, Seani was double (or triple!) marked, only this time he wasn't able to wriggle free to get an assist, as he had done.

Jimmy Keohane probably should've put his volley at least on target too. Still, it's another game unbeaten and another successful broadcast.

Eamonn Deacy Park had one of the most professional set ups I've encountered in four seasons of Rebel Radio. A comfy chair, a plug, free wifi which was strong, and a quality programme to boot. Credit must go to Vinny O'Connor and his media team at GUFC. So now we roll on to Friday night and a Drogheda team who we gave a thumping in the first series. How City react to the first drop of points ill say a lot about whether we're worthy of our place at the top.
