Hello all!
With the season now firmly underway (and rapidly approaching the end of the first round), I'm sure some of you have been wondering when live match commentary will again be available through Rebel Radio.
Well, I can happily say we should be back on the airwaves around mid-May, provisionally for UCD v Cork City on May 20th.
It may be slightly earlier, or slightly later, but that game is what we're aiming for at the moment, and we cannot wait to bring you live Cork City games once again!
In the off-season plenty has happened in my absence, but most notably my radio husband David Kent has divorced myself and the commentary, to work with Louth-Meath FM covering Drogheda United matches every Friday.
As many of you know, Dave hails from Meath, and is just a half-hour's spin from the banks of the Boyne. Even more crucially, this is a paid gig for Dave, as opposed to the volunteer work he has done with myself for the past number of years.
This is a fantastic opportunity for him and absolutely well deserved for all the work he has put in with, and away from the radio, so congratulations Dave!
Sadly, the other member of our trio, Colm Cuddihy, decided not to return following his role with Beat in Waterford, and instead has recently been appointed as a Supporters Liaison Officer with the club, so it's great to see both my pals continue on with different but equally important roles.
That does mean, however, that we are looking for new people to come on board in whatever capacity they feel they can contribute! We're looking for anyone who can help us with researching, graphics, social media, radio production or indeed presenting to contact us at rebelradioccfc@gmail.com with your name and your requested role in the subject title. All we require is someone with a passion for the club, and who can contribute whatever time they can on a consistent basis.
If you are applying for the presenter role, we do request a 30 second demo clip, to be sent in .mp3 form.
To our regular listeners, thank you for bearing with the extended interruption. In the meantime, if you have any questions or suggestions about what you'd like to hear when we return in the early summer, email us!
Looking forward to seeing you all soon,
Kevin Galvin.
